Chair DeMorett called the Brier Planning Commission meeting to
order at 7:00 PM.

CALL:
Present: Commissioners DeMorett, Campbell, Hanson,
Othman, Parsons, Rosman, Schneider and Councilmember Krienke.
Staff: Planner Michaelis and Clerk-Treasurer
Swisher.
APPROVAL
OF MINUTES:
Chair
DeMorett opened for consideration approval of the January 18, 2023 Planning Commission minutes. Motion: Approve the January 18, 2023
Planning Commission minutes, Moved by
Commissioner Parsons, Seconded by
Commissioner Rosman. Motion Carried.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Councilmember
Krienke discussed recent City Council activity.
PUBLIC REQUESTS &
ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: None.
PUBLIC HEARING:
Chair DeMorett opened the Public Hearing at 7:05 PM,
to amend Brier Municipal Code Chapter 17.52 Tree Preservation. Planner
Michaelis introduced the proposed changes.
Motion: To recommend
approval to City Council to amend Brier Municipal Code Chapter 17.52 Tree
Preservation with the following corrections:
Line 30 change "evaluart" to "evaluate"
Line 96 remove "Washington Natural"
Line 218 change "defoliates" to "defoliants"
Line 515 Move "Major" to the front of the title
Line 777 remove "exterior five feet" and add "plus
five feet" after dripline
Line 375 replace "grown" with "planted"
Line 398 replace "significant" with "protected"
Moved
by Commissioner Rosman, Seconded by Commissioner Hanson. Motion
Carried.
The Public Hearing closed at 7:26 PM.
AGENDA FOR NEXT MEETING:
Planner Michaelis asked the Commissioners to move
the March 2023 Planning Commission meeting from the third Wednesday to the
fourth Wednesday due to staffing conflicts. Motion: To move the March
2023 Planning Commission meeting from the third Wednesday to the fourth
Wednesday, Moved by Commissioner Rosman, Seconded by Commissioner
Campbell. Motion Carried.
ADJOURNMENT:
Chair DeMorett declared the meeting adjourned to their training on
the Open Public Meetings Act and the Public Records Act at 7:28 PM.
PLANNING COMMISSION TRAINING:
Clerk-Treasurer Swisher began training on the Open Public Meetings
Act and the Public Records Act.
