BRIER PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES

April 23, 2003


Chairman Protem Brock called the Brier Planning Commission Meeting to order at 7:33 PM.

 

ROLL CALL

Present:      Commissioners Brock, Wahlgren, Funk, and Chrisman. Commissioner Friesen arrived at 7:40 PM.

Absent:       Commissioners Lavoie, and Hodgen.

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Chairman Protem Brock opened for approval of the March 26, 2003 Planning Commission minutes. Commissioner Wahlgren moved and Commissioner Funk seconded to approve the Planning Commission Minutes of March 26, 2003 as written. Motion Carried.

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS: Councilman Warner reported City Council approved the Ordinance allowing the Planning Commissioners to meet on the third Wednesday of the month.

 

OLD BUSINESS: None.

 

NEW BUSINESS – PUBLIC HEARING:

LOT LINE ADJUSTMENT APPLICATION #LL03-001 BY ED COAKER AT 23000 32ND AVE W.

Chairman Protem Brock opened for consideration of Lot Line Adjustment Application #LL03-001 by Mr. Ed Coaker located at 23000 32nd Avenue W. Mr. Coaker explained his application.

Chairman Protem Brock opened the Public Hearing at 7:37 PM. There was no public input. Chairman Protem Brock closed the Public Hearing at 7:38 PM.

Mayor Kaske spoke regarding Mr. Coaker’s application and stated Administration is satisfied that all the criteria required by Ordinance has been met and recommends approval.

Commissioner Funk moved, and Commissioner Chrisman seconded, to recommend to the Brier City Council approval of Lot Line Adjustment #LL03-001 by Mr. Ed Coaker at 23000 32nd Avenue W. Motion Carried.

Commissioner Friesen arrived at 7:40 PM.

 

VARIANCE APPLICATION #V03-002 BY SID & DEBRA BENDER AT 21577 26TH AVENUE W.

Chairman Protem Brock opened for consideration of Variance Application #V03-002 by Sid & Debra Bender located at 21577 26th Avenue W.  Mr. Bender explained his application.

Chairman Protem Brock opened the Public Hearing at 7:43 PM. There was no public input. Chairman Protem Brock closed the Public Hearing at 7:44 PM.

Mayor Kaske spoke regarding Mr. Benders application and the statement made by Administration regarding time restrictions placed on the Variance. There was discussion.

Commissioner Friesen moved and Commissioner Wahlgren seconded, to recommend to the Brier City Council approval of Variance Application #V03-002 by Sid & Debra Bender at 21577 26th Avenue W., to build a breakfast nook within 24 months carried from date of approval to the date of construction completion. Motion Carried.

 

MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS:

Chairman Protem Brock opened for consideration of changes to Title 17, Zoning Code, and make recommendations to the City Council. Mike Lavoie sent a letter to the Planning Commission regarding the changes they have been discussing over the past year. There was Planning Commission discussion on the various items.

 

ADJOURNMENT:

Commissioner Wahlgren moved and Commissioner Friesen  seconded to adjourn. Motion Carried and the meeting adjourned at 9:13PM
