members are appointed by
the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council
Library Board
Seven members serve four-year
terms and meet the second Wednesday of every other month at 7:00 p.m. January, March, May,
July, September, and November at the library.
Park & Recreation
Board
The Park Board advises the
Council on matters concerning parks and recreation. Seven members serve
four-year terms and meet on the second Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m.
in the Brier City Council Chambers
Civil Service
Commission
A Civil Service Commission for
the Police Department is required by state law. The commission oversees
entry level and promotional examinations and disciplinary action for
police personnel. Three members serve six-year terms and meet the first
Wednesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. in the Brier City Council
Chambers.
Planning Commission
The seven member commission is responsible for reviewing and making
recommendations to the City Council on the City’s Comprehensive Plan,
land use management legislation and regulations, potential annexations,
and sub-area planning. Commission members serve two-year terms. Meetings
are held every third Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. in the Brier
City Council Chambers.
