BRIER CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
June 23, 2026
Mayor Kaemingk called the regular Brier City
Council Meeting to order at 7:00 PM
and flag salute was given.
Roll Call:
Present: Mayor Kaemingk, Councilmembers
Allen, Krienke, Marley, Othman and Parsons.
Staff: City Planner Michaelis.
Absent: Councilmember Gallagher and
Councilmember Lockhart.
Public
Requests & Oral Communications: None.
Reports of
Committees & City Officials:
Mayor Kaemingk attended his regular meetings and
the Snohomish County 911 meeting, which he gave a brief overview of what was
discussed regarding budget and expenditures. He also shared that the city
received a one-month extension on the Decant Facility.
City Planner Michaelis gave an overview of the current
projects, applications and code enforcement cases he is actively working on. He
is currently handling 127 active applications and thanked Christine Sloan for
her administrative help.
Councilmember Parsons attended the Park Board
meeting on June 10th; they discussed park maintenance and the Public
Works mowing schedule as they have noticed the Parks are getting overgrown at
times and think Brier Park should take precedence over the other parks. Also,
the playground wood chips at Brier Park need to be maintained, especially
around the playground equipment. The Park Board also discussed Music in the
Park, which will be held on July 15th at 5pm. Councilmember Parsons
also met with Mayor Kaemingk to discuss details of the Brier Park Restroom
project.
Councilmember Othman wanted to thank the Parks
Board for the Sea Cucumber Day participation on June 12th at Brier
Elementary and also wanted to recognize Brier
Elementary for their performance of Wizard of Oz at Mountlake Terrace High
School.

Mayor Kaemingk opened for consideration approval of
the Lidar Mapping Interlocal Agreement with Snohomish County, not to exceed
$810.00. Motion: Approve the Lidar

New Business, Petitions, Communications,
Application Appeals:
Mayor Kaemingk opened for consideration approval for
the release of the Tree Protection Assurance Bond for Arcadia Homes, LLC,
located at 22328 Locust Way in the amount of $21,000.00. City Planner Michaelis
gave a brief overview. Motion:

Mayor Kaemingk opened for consideration approval for
the partial release of the Erosion Control Performance Bond for Signature Homes,
in the amount of $52,029.90, for the property located at 3515 214th St
SW. City Planner Michaelis gave a brief overview. Motion: Approve the partial release of the Erosion Control

Miscellaneous
Business by Call of Councilmembers & City Officials:
Councilmember
Marley pulled up an article about jails in Snohomish County that was published
in the Lynnwood Times, June 16th.
Mayor
Kaemingk told Council that the next Workshop meeting will be held on July 7th.
