BRIER CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
May 12, 2026
Mayor Kaemingk called the regular Brier City
Council Meeting to order a 7:00 PM and flag salute was given.
Roll Call:
Present: Mayor Kaemingk, Councilmembers Allen, Gallagher,
Krienke, Lockhart, Marley, and Othman.
Absent: Councilmember Parsons.
Staff: City Clerk-Treasurer

Public
Requests & Oral Communications:
Jim Miller, Brier- Shared that there will be a
quarterly radio room exercise on May 30th starting at 9am and the
high frequency radio antenna will be fixed next Tuesday.
Colden Brown, Public Affairs Specialist with Small
Business Administration (SBA)-Introduced himself and shared what SBA Relief was
available for long term recovery for disasters for Washington businesses,
private nonprofits and residents.
Rayne Engle, Brier-She was in attendance with a
group of 7 as part of the Traffic Safety on Brier Road group. They had a
meeting last Thursday, which had about 20 attendees and they were working on
raising money for blinking light crosswalk signals for Brier Terrace Middle
School and the Library.
Marilyn Joplin, Brier-Lives on Brier Rd/Brier Way
and has seen an increase in motorcycles and cars zooming up from Kenmore. Her
daughter lives off Old Poplar Way and has also seen an increase in traffic and
speeders.
Robert Crumbly, Brier-Asked if the city collects
money from traffic violations and why the city cannot comment on the traffic
situation.
Reports of
Committees & City Officials:
Mayor Kaemingk, Councilmember Parsons and Clerk
Treasurer Swisher met with Congresswomen DelBene at City Hall and took her on a
mini tour around City Hall. He also shared that Chief Hawley has graduated from
Northwestern University Center of Public Safety.
Councilmember Krienke attended the Library Board meeting,
and they had a 30-year celebration and discussed an upcoming Library Levy.
Councilmember Marley attended a Snohomish County
Fire meeting with Mayor Kaemingk and Councilmember Parsons and shared that
Snohomish County Fire will be seeking a $419,000,000 bond to provide 4 new
stations and help with seismic retrofitting.
Councilmember Gallagher attended the Community
Transit meeting and reviewed checks.

Clerk Treasurer Swisher told Council that there
will be a Workshop meeting next Tuesday.
